The guitarist Yohann The Ferrand presents his Yeko project, an album nourished by his musical meetings with African and particularly Malian musicians. With this collaborative album, this great traveler carries the musical dialogue between Africa and Europe at its summit.
First excerpt from the album Yeko, here is the Single Yerna Fasted. Yohann The Ferrand reveals with this title an exceptional featuring of Khaira Arby, the golden voice of Timbuktu.
Both pop and funky, Yerna Fasse catches us from the intro. The trance of the desert percussions, the riffs of brass and the fiolin peul carry an effective chorus whose traditional music have the secret.
In an angelic voice, Khaira Arby delivers this ultimate opus before his disappearance. She sings a unified mali in peace and sharing between different ethnic groups. This single is the first excerpt from the Yeko series that will be released in September 2021 with prestigious guests.
This song from Northern Mali crosses the rhythms of Moroccan Bendirs with the Fully Violon and mixes Funk and Blues guitars from Sahel Touareg. It translates from the Sonrai language (close to Tamasheq) by “shared happiness”, through the image of the caravan of salt descending from the desert by Taoudeni, Gao, to go to Mopti in Country Dogon and finish in Mandingo region and distribute everyone’s share.
