Ouilfreed MEYOU, with his real name Wilfried MEYOUPA NOUMBISSI, is a young singer and singer-songwriter born in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon.
His music is part of an «afro soul» movement, melodious and melodious perfumes inspired by the Cameroonian musical traditions.
Revealed in 2004 by the music competition “DREAM Coca-Cola”, of which it emerges great winner, OUILFREED becomes the face of the famous brand for two years.
Not only did he do an African tour as a Coca Cola ambassador but he also recorded for the compilation “DREAM Coca-Cola”: 2 titles solo, “REGARDE” and “MBOA”, and “Hey Ho Hey Ho” , The single with the other finalists of the contest having been the subject of a promotional campaign in Cameroon and on the African continent in collaboration with Trace TV.
OUILFREED collaborates with artists such as KOPPO, KROTAL and the MACASE group, on the Cameroonian and African stages.
He will also participate in the compilation “Kamèr-Konnexion”, which will bring together several renowned artists from Cameroon, with the title “EN QUÊTE D’AMOUR”.
Installed for a few years in France, Ouilfreed regularly performs live on several stages of the hexagon.
His first CD entitled YAYATO (“welcome” in Cameroon) was released in January 2014 in Cameroon.
Composed of 12 tracks, this album is mainly sung in BAMILEKE and PIDGIN English.
The first track “OUISSAÏ YOU DI GO” (“Where are you?”) Has enabled him to climb to the 6th place of the Orange Africa Pan African StarAfrica Sound 2014 contest and to appear in the eponymous compilation of songs by 10 finalists.
In November 2014, Ouilfreed published his second video, “Na Pôpô Ndolo (Remix)”, whose original version appears on the album YAYATO.
