Mani Bella or Véronique Mani Bella, born October 29, 1987 in Yaoundé. She is a Cameroonian singer of Bikutsi, from the Central region. Her first album Pousse la vie, released in 2010, makes her discover on the Cameroonian music scene, but it’s the title Pala Pala released in 2014, which allows her to establish herself on the national and international music scene. Mani Bella now has 2 albums and several singles.
Mani Bella starts playing music very young. In high school, she sings in carnivals and later in cabarets. She writes her first song in 2003 on the death of her father. The song Pilatus is a tribute to his father. In 2005, she decided to launch herself into music, encouraged by the artist Tonton Ebogo who took her to the studio and introduced her to the arranger Bertrand Eba with whom she recorded her first album.
In April 2010, Mani Bella released her first album entitled Pousse la vie. The album knows a huge success, carried by the title Kongassa. The success of the album allows her to be crowned Best Female Artist of the Year at Festi-Bikutsi, and Female Revelation 2011 at Mvet d’Or.
In 2014, she returns to the stage with a Maxi single of 2 titles entitled Face to face in which we find the title Pala Pala. The song knows a huge success and gives him access to the biggest scenes of Cameroon and Africa. Between 2014 and 2015, Mani Bella gives more than 172 concerts in Africa, the United States and Europe. A first for a Bikutsi artist. The Pala Pala clip reaches one million views on Youtube in 2015. It is the most watched Cameroonian song on the internet. A record that will be broken in 2016 by the title Paste the little Franko. The song is taken by Cameroonian comedian Fingon Tralala in a parody addressed to the national football team.
The success of the song Pala Pala allows Mani Bella to win the best artist award at the Kunde d’Or in Burkina Faso, the best African artist at the Afroca Music Awards in Brazzaville and to be nominated for the Kora Awards 2016.
In 2015, she was selected to perform the official anthem of the African Cup of Nations at the official ceremony in Equatorial Guinea alongside Singuila, Fally Ipupa and the Toofan group.
