Maahlox Le Vibeur is a Cameroonian rapper, singer and producer, born on January 16, 1990 in Yaoundé. He is the founder of the Zone 2 Rap label, which brings together several artists from Cameroon’s hip-hop and afrotrap scene.
Maahlox Le Vibeur began his musical career in 2009, taking part in rap competitions and hosting parties in Yaoundé’s neighborhoods. He has made a name for himself with his provocative style, raw lyrics and energetic flow. He draws inspiration from Cameroon’s social, political and economic reality, as well as his own life experiences.
In 2014, he released his debut album, Ça sort comme ça sort, which was an immediate hit with the public. The eponymous track became a national hit and a hymn to resourcefulness. The album also includes tracks like Tu montes tu descends, Tuer pour tuer and Tu es dedans, which get listeners dancing and thinking.
In 2016, he released another single: Tu as combien? which confirmed his status as a Cameroonian rap star. It tackles themes such as money, sex, violence and corruption. He also performs on international stages, such as the Festival des musiques urbaines d’Anoumabo (FEMUA) in Côte d’Ivoire and the Festival Africain d’Oslo in Norway.
In 2018, he released “Fini avec”, which marks an evolution in his music. It also expresses a more positive and optimistic view of life.
In 2020, he released “Le fou”, a tribute to his loyal audience and his freedom of expression. In it, he asserts his status as a rap madman who fears nothing and no one. He denounces the injustices and abuses of power that plague Cameroonian society. He also celebrates friendship, love and solidarity.
