Latoya Lucile Mwoombola known as Lioness is a Namibian rapper born in Windhoek.
In addition to being a rapper, Doctor Latoya Lucile Mwoombola is also a bachelor in medicine and surgery with honors from the Unam School of Medicine. So she juggles between her job as a medical intern during the day and her musical life as a rap and hip hop artist at night.
She received praise from critics for her number one singles, “Tala”, “Sauce,” and “Dreames”. Lioness already has two EPs – ILL3( 2015), ILL4: The Sequel( 2016), and “Pride of Cilq( 2018)”, her debut studio album. She released her second studio album, “Wish You Were Here”( 2020).
She has made a name for herself in the Namibian music scene by quickly showcasing her intricate and tightly knit lyrical skills in numerous regional Hip-Hop/Rap cyphers and live performances. As the opening act for North American singer Cassper Nyovest’s recording tour in Namibia in 2016, Lioness entertained thousands of spectators. In addition to working in the music business, Lioness is the company ambassador for Make Em Up cosmetics and has been a model for a number of regional clothing companies, including Leffaccenlelife and Ingo Shanyenge.
She sings both in English and in Oshiwambo.
