Born in 1990 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Gnakrou Josée Priscille aka Josey is a singer-songwriter developing a blend of coupé-décalé, afro-zouk, R & B, soul, afro-dance, Congolese rumba and afro-folk. His love for music starts very young. At the age of 8, Josey began to mix with music by performing live in his church. She made a name for herself in 2012 by taking over the song Sapiou from Delta Group, which enabled her to win the 2nd place of Castel Live Opera, an African singing competition organized by the Castel group.
In January 2014, Josey released solo the maxi single “We do nothing with that”, a song dedicated to women and will make it known to the general public. Big international hit, “We do nothing with that”, directed by his countryman and producer Fremo Rafal will become a “flagship expression” of young Ivorians. In September, she collaborates with DJ Bonano on “Abidjan the joy”, a single cut-shifted (Afro-dance), directed by Grand Poucet. In January 2015, Josey graduated “Diploma”, a mega-hit planetary cut-off shine that earned her the nickname of Women’s Advocate and a nomination to the Poro Music Awards, in the category “Best Female Hope” for the Abidjan Festival at the Palace of Culture of Abidjan.
