Who can claim to speak of Hip-Hop Kamer without referring to Mastah Suprem (Doro Supra)? In view of his career, he stands out over the years as a reference in the rap Kamer. Urban revolutionary poet, director, producer, partner of different projects and owner of a label in creation, the MC quickly progressed outside the usual norms.
In 2018, Dorosupra remains one of the most talented artists on the national hip-hop scene. His talent will enable him to sign a contract in 2010 with the prestigious Soundright Music International label, an affiliate label of Konvict Muzik Group; contract that will allow him to perform featuring with international artists such as Shyheim & Killah Army (Wu-Tang), Enza (G unit South / Dj Flypcide), Matt Houston, Monsignor Mike, Cashis (Shady Records), etc …. He recorded his first street-album “Yes We Can not” (March 2010-esteemed success). He has a very personal style; never had a rapper been able to assemble and share emotions with so much feeling and accuracy; at the same time egotrip, melancholy but always hopeful his titles like “My part of shadow”, “A-free-can Gangster” or “Serious Business” touched a whole generation.
In a street-album, he imposed his mark. The years and the projects that will follow demonstrate all the potential that this artist possesses and confirm all the hopes placed in him. He is 2nd in the contest “The African Dream” in Central Africa in 2010, his official mixtape “Illuminahit” will be the first project in Cameroon to enter digital via the label AfricaBox Production / Believe Digital. The result is better than expected: nearly 6,000 digital pieces to date.
With a good thirty collaborations on various projects of local and international artists, participations on compiles (Illicites Propos 2, Hustle & Flow vol.1,2,3, Kamer BOSS), the rapper draws his way, far from any competition, positioning itself as one of the most anticipated Mc’s in the future: titles such as “Spin the Bails”, “Show Biz”, or “Gangster Shit” still resonate today as hymns.
Guest Star at the International Rapandar Hip-Hop Festival in Senegal in 2011 & 2013, invited to the “Make Ethics” event in Paris in 2011, nominated for various award ceremonies, etc … the success of Illuminahit proves that the work over time is paying off, without the help of the big FM and TV networks. DoroSupra easily demonstrates that he is one of the most innovative artists on the Cameroonian urban scene. Nothing stops the Mc in his ascent; he has no limit, and his music can turn rap, the off-the-wall cut or afrotrap without getting lost. As he says himself: “neither underground, nor hardcore, nor afrotrap but just hip-hop”. With references from Bob Marley to Tupac to the hotheads, DoroSupra belongs to this very rare breed of Mc’s complete, as excellent in the studio as in the concert. Now signed on his own label LAVERIE, and in distribution at Add Ventures Music (label of Chris Gotti, ex Murder Inc) he works on a series of EP and an album.
Today Dorosupra is above all one of those young people who have made their mark in music and society. Because of its success on the one hand, by its indomitable character, and its quality of entrepreneur on the other hand. If the artist is not appreciated, no solid objective criterion to assert that others are right, he can always consider himself misunderstood. In this respect, creation is a flight from everyday life, a flight from social realities, hierarchical scales, a flight into the imagination.
