Daysie
Daysie is an Ivorian artist born in 1987 in Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire. She has always been passionate about music, a passion that she owes in part to her parents, who enrolled her in singing lessons at a very young age.
Daysie was a gifted girl who grew up listening to a variety of musical genres, such as zouglou, reggae, pop and traditional music. She also drew inspiration from French chanson to write her songs. She started writing her own songs at the age of 13, inspired by the great artists of African music such as Miriam Makeba, Youssou N’Dour and Salif Keita.
Her musical career really started in 2005, when she won the Super Talent contest in Ivory Coast. She then started working with different music producers, which allowed her to record her first songs in the studio.
In 2009, Daysie released her first album entitled “Naadjo”, with which she had great success in Côte d’Ivoire. This album was followed in 2012 by a second album entitled “Amonbofoué”. Daysie’s songs are often filled with positive messages, and focus on themes such as love, peace and unity.
Daysie is now considered one of the most important voices in Ivorian music. She has gained popularity for her unique style, which mixes traditional and modern rhythms, as well as for her inspiring lyrics. She has also won several awards, including the Best Female Artist Awards at the Kundê d’Or in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Outside of music, Daysie is also an artist committed to social causes. She is involved in projects that aim to improve the living conditions of children in difficult situations in Côte d’Ivoire.
