Cokayne OTFT
Cokayne OTFT (On The Fucken Track) a.k.a Tchekoulong Bienda Fabrice was born in Bafoussam, Cameroon Africa in 1992. He works predominantly in the medium of music production as a Hip-hop, RnB and EDM producer. His passion for music, and his entourage filled up with song writers made him develop incredible skills leading him to come up with a single to tell the world something new is about to happen. This is done through his single I’m On My Way – a captivating debut the heralds the arrival of a gifted and significant talent.
As a native of Bafoussam Cokayne never took music seriously until the age of 16. He explains “I started getting melodies playing in my head, and looked for a way to express all what I was hearing. One day a friend showed me a software that could help me, on which I worked for several years.” He got his friends to listen to his work, and used each critics to improve over time. “My dad and friends used to tell me what could be added or removed from the different works I had to produce, that’s how I improved.” Relying solely on his laptop for his projects, Cokayne OTFT started feeling the excited reaction of his entourage when they heard his music.
Now working with JMJ, Cokayne gathered his skills as producer taking influences from producers such as Timberland, Dr. Dre, T-minus, Justice League and much more, using them to shape his style. “I grew up listening to urban music.” Cokayne explains “My Dad was a fan of Jazz, his brothers were fans of Hip-hop and RnB. So growing around them developed in me the music spirit.”
As his skills improved and he started getting heard, Cokayne started collaborating with local acts around the nation. He worked on several projects like the JMJ Future Album – The Future’s Bright, with the FrenchKind artist Dareal, Motherland Co-founder and artist Stanley Enow on TUMBUBOSS (original version) and many others.“Working with these artist made me believe in what I was doing as well as making me more confident,” he declares.
With the confidence in place he decided to come up with a single on which he is the producer, writer and performer. “It took me a couple of weeks to find the right instrumental and decide who should be featured on.” With Cokayne on the beat and hook, LeKyd on the chorus, I’m On My Way is an infectious and transporting song. .From the opening notes of “I’m On My Way”, Cokayne tells the whole world someone is coming, in a hello world shout out. “The song is about someone who worked to achieve his goals, and today, he feels he is ready…. Ready for the world, ready for the competition and ready for the music scene.” “I’m On My Way” is an emotional up-tempo Hip-hop song, which makes use of about 4 minutes to retrace the journey of someone on the path to success.
Cokayne is currently on an album project at JMJ Future Records (his current team). “Feeling so excited about the song and the upcoming projects.” He is where he’s always wanted to be, and he is not stopping here, because as he says…. He is on his way.
