Bamba Ami Sarah is an Ivorian singer who performs coupé-décalé, a popular musical genre in Côte d’Ivoire. She was born on February 26, 1986 in Abidjan, in the commune of Abobo. She is the daughter of Bamba Mamadou and Dosso Madoussou, and has nine brothers and sisters.
Bamba Ami Sarah began her artistic career by taking part in the reality TV show “Star Tonnerre” in 2008, where she won over the public with her talent and personality. Following this experience, she released her first single, “C’est Dieu qui est fort”, which proved a big hit. Since then, she has scored a string of hits, including “Comment tu danses”, “Les hommes supportez”, “Jamais la honte” and “Biama”.
Bamba Ami Sarah is also known for her social and humanitarian commitment. She has paid tribute to DJ Arafat, a coupé-décalé icon who died in 2019, in a moving song. She has also taken part in awareness campaigns against coronavirus and violence against women.
Bamba Ami Sarah is now one of the most influential female artists on the Ivorian music scene. She is engaged to the man Saga Souleymane Kamagaté, with whom she has three children to date. She recently announced that she wanted to diversify her musical style towards variety, while remaining true to her roots.
