Guiss Guiss Bou Bess is a musical formation from Senegal.
Literally translated as “new vision”, Guiss Guiss Bou Bess is a rich and unique co-creation of the Kaani collective. The group was formed by two artists with distant musical universes: Stéphane Costantini and Mara Seck.
Through their musical creations, Stéphane and Mara seek to establish bridges between current electronic music and music of the African continent, more particularly with the rhythms of Sabar (traditional Senegalese rhythm made of percussion) and Mbalax (popular music of Senegal).
The main goal is to preserve the cultural heritage and identity of Senegal while making it musically accessible to the Western public.
